Functional medicine takes an evidence-informed yet individualized approach to your health. One person's skin irritation is not the same as the next person's, and so the remedy may not be the same. In fact, functional medicine prefers to treat the underlying causes of symptoms and foundational health for prevention. Read more…>

Movement is life. In the chiropractic tradition, we restore motion in the joints where it has been lost or restricted. This gives you increased range of motion, decreased pain, and improved function in your muscles and organs. Not only does this help you feel better in many ways, but it also helps your body become more resilient in the face of stress, injury, and illness. In other words, you bounce back a little faster. Nutrition Therapy, also known as functional nutrition, is the practice of using whole foods to nourish your body on a cellular level. Unlike a one-size-fits-all diet, functional nutrition honors your body’s unique biology, history, and health goals. By focusing on the underlying triggers of symptoms—whether it’s digestive distress, chronic fatigue, or inflammation—functional nutrition empowers you to heal from the inside out.
Additional Tools for Healing
Our practitioners and clinic are equipped with a wealth of knowledge and tools to enhance your experience. These modalities are available by request or as an add-on to your session.
LASER
“L.A.S.E.R. (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) is a type of intense radiation of the light spectrum. We find this FDA-approved tool to be helpful for a wide range of conditions, including pain, sprains and strains, wound healing, fracture healing, and arthritis. You can select the laser as an add-on to your visit so we can be sure to have it handy when you come in!
KT TAPE
Kinesio taping uses a special, elastic tape that’s applied directly to your skin to provide support and stability for muscles and joints. Unlike rigid athletic tape, Kinesio tape allows for full range of motion, helping to alleviate pain and improve circulation without restricting movement. It gently lifts the skin to create space between the skin and the tissues underneath, reducing pressure and improving blood flow to the affected area.
CUPPING
Cupping is a therapeutic technique where specialized cups are placed on the skin to create gentle suction. This suction promotes increased blood flow, releases fascial tension, and helps remove toxins from the body. The therapy is rooted in ancient East Asian medicine and is known for its ability to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.
GUA SHA/GRASTON
Gua sha is a traditional East Asian therapy designed to promote circulation, reduce muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing process. During a gua sha session, a skilled practitioner uses a smooth-edged tool to gently “scrape” the skin, stimulating blood flow and releasing fascia—an essential step in relieving deep-seated tension and pain.
PEMF MAT
PEMF therapy uses pulsed electromagnetic fields to stimulate and energize cells, improving their function and boosting your body’s ability to heal itself. Every cell in your body has its own electromagnetic frequency, and when cells become damaged or stressed, this frequency becomes imbalanced. PEMF therapy helps restore your cells’ natural energy, promoting better circulation, reducing inflammation, and enhancing recovery.
E-STIM
E-stim (short for electrical stimulation) uses soft, targeted electrical impulses to activate healing in muscles, fascia, and the nervous system. At Stockheart, we use microcurrent and TENS-style devices at subtle, therapeutic levels to encourage circulation, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain—while always staying within your comfort zone. This is stimulation that soothes.
