The Clean 15

Ideally, we think it would be great for you to eat a 100% organic diet, but sometimes we have to make choices due to availability or budget. Certain vegetables are more affected by herbicides and pesticides (see The Dirty Dozen), and then a few that have thicker skin, as it were, and seem to be safer choices if you are going to eat conventional produce:

  • Asparagus

  • Avocados

  • Bananas

  • Blueberries

  • Broccoli

  • Cabbage

  • Garlic

  • Kiwi

  • Mango

  • Onions

  • Papaya

  • Pineapple

  • Shelling peas

  • Sweet corn

  • Watermelon

So, if you're watching your pennies and buying only partially organic, or wondering what to eat at the next potluck, we hope this list will give you a little guidance!
